Alex Newman has been doing a lot of TV/radio interviews lately discussing his new book he co-authored with author and veteran educator Samuel Blumenfeld entitled Crimes of the Educators: How Utopians Are Using Government Schools to Destroy America’s Children.

Alex is an international journalist, educator and consultant who is currently based in Europe but has lived on four continents. He has a degree in journalism from the University of Florida and has worked for numerous publications in the U.S. and abroad.

People who know me know that I am no fan of nationalized education (i.e. Common Core). A while back I started to take a look into Common Core and the history of education in the United States. What I discovered was so shocking, so unbelievable, so disturbing, that it ended up leading me on a number of research paths that were completely unexpected. I’m still on those paths now. And I suspect I will be for a long time to come. Sometimes, it’s in the places you least expect that you start to uncover some of the answers you’ve been looking for.

I’ve been in contact with Alex as of late. Alex was nice enough to send me a review copy of his new book. After I read it, I plan on writing a review. Alex also sent me a number of links to some of his previous work, which I highly recommend reading.
